TU Dortmund meets Lehigh University – Collaborating internationally and virtually

One of the major advantages of online teaching is not being limited by location and travelling issues anymore! Over the past two weeks, the students of our course „New Product Management“ at TU Dortmund collaborated with the students from Lehigh University in the US to discuss topics on innovation in Germany vs. innovation in the US.

Within groups of five students – both from Germany as well as the US - the students discussed a specific task concerning different aspects such as team culture, risk attitudes, or innovation in different industries like the automotive sector. Each team then gave a short pitch presentation on their results and the best team was awarded with a small price.

Besides working on their tasks, the students connected socially and for example exchanged their experiences about studying in Germany vs the US during the Corona pandemic. We hope that the students stay connected also after finishing our course!

The lecturers Prof. Flatten and Prof. Lehman were very happy with the success of the course and based on the great feedback we received from the students, we plan to continue the collaboration.
