International Networking in times of Corona

The Professorship for Technology Management offered participants of the Bachelor-level course International Business a very special opportunity. On January, 28, 2021, they could attend the first "Virtual Intercultural Workshop" together with students of the Global Business Strategy course at Westminster College, Salt Lake City, UT, USA.

Moderated by Susan Arsht, PhD, and Katrin Bauer, 30 participants from both institutions discussed a task on Formal Business Communication as well as trending topics such as studying in times of Corona on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. To make the most out of the virtual discussion, the students prepared questions that they were curious to have answered by their counterparts. Besides adding to their knowledge of intercultural matters, networking was a major focus of the event. "Our students already shared with us that they connected to Westminster students right after the event," report the course instructors Dr. Corinna Gerleve and Katrin Bauer, the latter of whom visited Westminster College for a year in 2011/12 via the TU Dortmund University Exchange Program, ISEP more specifically, and also connected the institutions. The call for repetition became clear already during the event.
