A new article by Steffen Strese, Tessa Flatten, Nils Bertram, and Christoph Rieger has been published in the Harvard Business Manager. The Institut für Technologie, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (TIE) is pleased to announce this new publication, developed in collaboration with E.ON.

The article examines how established corporations can foster entrepreneurial action and develop new business models through corporate ventures. Based on in-depth case studies from E.ON’s central innovation unit, the study provides rich insights into how internal ventures operate within large organizations and how they balance entrepreneurial agility with strategic alignment.

The publication derives five overarching recommendations that contribute to a deeper understanding of how corporate ventures can support innovation in dynamic and highly complex environments. The findings are relevant for executives, innovation managers, and researchers interested in corporate entrepreneurship, innovation management, and sustainability-oriented innovation.

The article is published in the Harvard Business Manager and can be accessed via the following link: Link

We would like to sincerely thank our project partners at E.ON, Dr. Niklas Hunsdiek, Beate Demmer, and Stefanie Eller and our numerous interview partners, for their close collaboration and valuable contributions to this work.
