Close cooperation with practice is - in addition to scientific research and teaching - a supporting pillar of the TIE Institute. In order to transfer knowledge gained into business practice and to further develop and apply it with cooperation partners, we cooperate with partners from large companies, small and medium-sized enterprises as well as with founders and start-ups, depending on the objective and scenario. In cooperations, we contribute our scientific expertise from innovation and technology management , entrepreneurship as well as our experience from various practical, innovation and start-up projects. Various forms of cooperation and collaboration are possible: guest lectures in courses, integration of individual projects and case studies in courses, longer-term research collaborations, joint start-up projects, workshops and executive education or further training. Contact us - we look forward to your interest!
The TIE Institute not only wants to teach students theoretical content, but also provide insights and contacts in practice. For this purpose, we regularly invite executives, founders and entrepreneurs as well as experts from various industries, who provide insights into business models, innovations, technologies, current developments in business fields or strategic and operational issues in a variety of our events.
Practical project work and case studies are used in many of our courses as part of our teaching concept. Students from different disciplines thus have the opportunity to acquire conceptual, analytical, creative and communicative skills in addition to scientifically sound knowledge. At the same time, our practice partners, who bring in their specific questions and problem situations as a project or case study, benefit from the students' individual and innovative solution ideas and approaches. These include, for example, approaches to the innovation of a career platform with the help of the design thinking approach or the elaboration of digital business model innovations.
The chairs of innovation management and technology management are happy to supervise bachelor's and master's theses that are written in cooperation with a practice partner. The choice of topics and concrete questions are closely coordinated with the company, whereby the content must be related to the chair and the academic requirements must be fulfilled.
The chair is very interested in short and long-term collaborations in joint research projects with companies from different sectors (e.g. IT, e-commerce and trade, industry, venture capital, logistics). A collaboration can include (interdisciplinary) research projects with one or more academic staff members. In these research projects, new insights are created from mostly large data sets for both our practice partners and the scientific community.
For the Chair of Innovation Management, entrepreneurial thinking and action is a central component of the development of radical innovations, innovative technologies and new business fields. Therefore, we regularly work with start-ups and support (prospective) founders as well as established companies in their start-up and innovation projects. As a start-up or established company, are you interested in cooperation, workshops or executive education and training? Please contact us!
Further information and offers for start-up support and advice (e.g. property rights) as well as the provision of infrastructure can also be found at the Centre for Entrepreneurship.
